Welcome to the Declutter Shop! My mission building this site is two folds. One, to sell hand picked gently used products that I've bought and haven't used or no longer need, and in turn support a charity organization.
Like many of us, I’m guilty of owning way more things than I actually need. This makes my living space small, makes it harder to find things, and frankly it just sucks to have so many unused things lying around. So with this mini shop I hope to declutter item that no longer bring me joy and pass them onto someone who will get joy of them.
The second fold of the mission is the more important one. 30% of the profits made through the Declutter Shop will be donated to a charitable organization. Many organizations today are flooded with second hand items to distribute to those in need. But what they’re actually in need of is monetary support. For those helping communities in different countries, shipping items can be very expensive and tedious. So they look for ways to get monetary donations which is easier to move around the world and a lot more beneficial to the economy of those communities they are supporting. So even if we don’t raise a million dollars with this shop, this is our collective mini dent that I hope we can contribute to the world :)
Why not sell on a classifieds site?
Well, let’s be real, will I ever pull a Steve Jobs and own 4 of the exact same shirt and pants? Probably not. I love fashion and I love dressing up. But the fact is, as the seasons roll by, I will continue to purchase new items and outgrow my love for old ones. So I will keep coming back here to add products, and I want you to have the easiest experience in finding Declutter Shop products you love in one place instead if sifting through a whole marketplace. Especially if you have a big heart and really care about the cause your payment is contributing to <3
How will I get my products?
Classified marketplace style. If you’re not familiar with what that is, all you need to do is shoot an email to decluttershop@gmail.com with the products you want or a screenshot of your cart and we’ll arrange to meetup. The Declutter Shop is starting small and if it sees enough traction there is potential to figure out shipping details in the future.
Can the items be shipped?
Declutter Shop does not currently have shipping setup. Because it’s a small business, I want to keep the products at a reasonable price as they’re second hand, and to have more money going to charity and less to fees!
